After a pandemic induced hiatus, we were extremely excited to host our 5th Annual Affiliate Business Summit. With spring just around the corner, we went back to the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge to build new memories in a familiar locale. Dozens of vendors shared how grateful they were to be at our summit as we were the first tradeshow they have been able to attend anywhere in two years. Dana Spicer was the winner of the Vendor Cup after an incredible year where together, we were able to overcome numerous novel production and supply chain challenges. Working closely with Dana allowed us to meet the needs of our customers across Canada. Our keynote speaker, Sébastien Sasseville regaled all of us with his own stories of overcoming adversities and challenges to reach the summit of success. Our training sessions were a nice refresher and a great forum for the introduction of new products. Since we had so much fun playing bingo and eating local foods two years ago, we decided to return to the Maligne Wilderness Kitchen. Through a few heated rounds of bingo, we gave another 3 Affiliates $1000 each for a local charity operating in their community. The next morning, we explored Pyramid Lake, ate and drank by a bonfire, and learned about the environment and the animals that inhabit our National Parks. Then we went to see how the Maligne Canyon glacier was developing as we hiked a different section on our guided ice walk.
Our 4th Annual Affiliate Business Summit was a three day event held at the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge. 27 vendors offered an unbelievable showcase during this year’s Vendor Trade Show. Kitmasters took home the Vendor Cup for the year due to the outstanding work of the Trans Canada Sales team. Our keynote speaker, Shawn Kanungo, gave forward-thinking looks at the environment, the trucking industry and the Canadian workforce of the future. 7 vendors gave informative training sessions to our Affiliate Customers and our employees. That night, we all went to the Maligne Wilderness Kitchen where in addition to sampling specialized delicacies, the group had a couple bingo tournaments that lead to 3 Affiliates winning $1000 for a local charity operating in their community. The next day, we took full advantage of the unrivaled beauty that is Maligne Canyon with a guided ice walk. We did not know at the time that the world would soon go into lockdown, so it was very fortunate for all of us to experience the natural beauty of the great outdoors.
This year, we had our 3rd Annual Affiliate Business Summit. The three day event was held at the Chateau Lacombe in downtown Edmonton. Around 30 vendors packed the main ballroom and offered a fantastic showcase throughout the first evening. Bendix took home the Vendor Cup for the year due to the outstanding work of Cameron Mayor. Our keynote speaker, Kevin Graff, conducted a unique sales optimization session that featured a high degree of audience participation and left a significant amount of key learnings for all attendees. 5 vendors (Bendix, Premier, MGM Brakes, Dana and Gorilla Brake) were our designated trainers for the year, and each gave very informative sessions to our Affiliate Customers. After a full day of technical training, it was off to Rogers Place to see the Oilers. Unfortunately, the team did not perform as well as last year for us, but we are already looking forward to next year when we will be switching up the format to keep things fresh, interactive and most importantly, valuable for all attendees.
In 2018, we had our 2nd Annual Affiliate Business Summit. The three day event was held at the Chateau Lacombe in
downtown Edmonton, and featured a trade show with 30 leading manufacturers, a full day of breakout technical training sessions, a night out at the hockey game and keynote speaker, Mike Bossy.
